Panera employees call out colleagues who can’t sweep the floor

In a widely shared TikTok video, a Panera employee called out a colleague he didn’t know how to sweep. Creator Jacob (@jjmonaye) claims this shows they don’t clean their house.

“Having a job made me realize that people don’t clean their houses,” Jacob says at the beginning of the clip.

The TikToker then playfully mimicked interactions with colleagues. “Do you want to sweep the floor while I’m making the microwave?” he asks, before a comedic reenactment of his colleague sweeping the floor in his bedroom.

I was holding a broom like this when I was 11,” he added in the caption.

Jacob posted the video on August 22, and it has since racked up more than 1.9 million views.

For many viewers, the video resonated with their own work experience.

“Like how you don’t know how to sweep…” one user wrote.

No, they’re like how do I deal with dirt afterwards?” said another.

“I once watched a new employee swipe the same place from side to side like a cartoon,” a third claimed. “Not moving the dirt, just standing there and sweeping from side to side.”

Another asked: “How come you’ve never been in a situation where you have to sweep the floor?”

However, some offer reasons why they may be underperforming at work.

“Goodbye, this is my low-key way of doing things at work,” claimed one commenter.

“Sweeping the floor at work just makes me nervous and I feel like everyone is judging me,” explained another.

“A colleague used ‘I’m more of a vacuum cleaner’ to explain his lack of well-rounded skills,” suggested a third.
